We headed off today for a 8km trek to camp.
On the way we stopped at a village Mhita Kora (sweet horse) by pure luck the festival of the godess was being celebrated so we were invited into the host's house to dance and drink chai. The festival is to bring good fortune on the family that hosts it and so they invite people from the village and surrounding villages. We all danced with the woman and young girls.
We then visited the school and were treated to wonderful singing and a dance display.
The community was so wonderful and friendly and welcoming. The children were gorgeous.
We headed off once again in 34 degrees to walk the rest of the way to camp.
This camp site was also lovely and nearby they were irrigating a pond with fresh water so we wandered over and found the end of the irrigation pipe spraying water up through a toothpaste tube - yep that is what they were using. It was so hot we sprayed ourselves with the water - a shower and a clothes wash at the same time. I was dry in no time at all but boy does it feel good a cool you down.
In the late afternoon we visted another village - Odu which is a Barvard (sic) tribe village. They keep buffalo, cattle and goats.
Once again we were greeted by warmth and beautiful children.
We headed back to camp and they crew had set up a candlelight dinner and a chocolate cake!!
It is full moon tonight and we sat around the bonfire and were treated to music and dancing from the local villagers.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Youve certainly learned and seen a lot.
